SNL doesn't much care for Gloria Allred |
|
Who is "going to burn in Hell" with all the other ambulance chasers "who spend their lives bringing misery into the world."
I find that I don't care much for this sketch.

12. No, it makes Whitman look like an honest employer |
|
Merely requesting a day's work for a day's pay. Which Allred is scheming to help the employee avoid.
The skit LIES.

|
But his remarks when his presidential seal fell were probably funnier than anything they could come up with... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2D-MFNKvLMI like the host, though. She was in the Christopher Guest movies. :)

But the current one is, of course, Meg Whitman's fired housekeeper.

Allread is a female pitbull when it comes to protecting a lot of women who would have no voice without her. Fuck SNL with this skit.
Yeah, yeah, I know it's comedy. Not funny to some of us women. I'm with you aquart, between the 2 of us we've grown to a half-gallon.

7. Yah. I didn't find it the least bit funny. |
|
And I'm pretty sure it isn't the "ambulance chasers" who are responsible for spreading misery. Allred didn't make Tiger a horndog. She didn't make Whitman a heartless user. The skit made it seem that the woman was suing because Whitman insisted she do the job she was hired to do. That's a deliberate distortion. The woman did her job so well she was kept for nine years.
I feel dirty for even having watched.

I thought she really helped Amber Frey who at the end appeared to be headed for the same fate as Lacy Peterson. Ms. Frey was a victim also, although she was lucky she didn't pay the same price as Lacy.
I don't care if she makes mega bucks off of books or whatever. She takes these cases pro-bono and brings an issue like ifidelity and the murder of a spouse and put all the facts out there.
I need an I'm a 'Fan of Gloria Allred' button.

then again, SNL has a point, she puts her client out in public and says hey I'm illegal. Maybe she was already being deported and it didn't matter, I don't know, but I don't think I'd do it.

but, she gets the message out there. Wonder how many lawyers get a client who is in the same jam but because of certain circumstances doesn't reach the media frenzy stage and are helped by Allred's example.
When at all possible I seek out women professionals. That goes for a lawyer, accountant, doctor, dentist, vet. They need to be on top of the game - they're women. Plus, they bring a tad more understanding just being a woman toward other women. Not all of them are that way but, I have found that to be the case in all but one of my experiences with the professional women I've needed to consult.
Ok, I rest my case ;)

Don't ever go one. EVER. Doesn't matter what horrible shit is happening to you, don't go to one. Take care of it all on your own.
I hate your attitude. My wife is an attorney. One would be classified as an "ambulance chaser" because she does personal injury plaintiff work. The number of people she has helped in her career is huge.
But, hey, you have your ignorant ass attitude. And I'm serious, never go to a lawyer because they apparently do nothing likable. I only wish I could be there when you step into a lawyer's office to remind you that you shouldn't.

But other times, like those times when our enemies are the object, it soothes like aloe.

|
So natch some skits sneak in like this.
The cardinal sin of this week's SNL is that it just was thoroughly unfunny.
Well, except the "I am not a witch" skit. That was okay. And the Suze Orman skit. The rest sucked major donkey.

I feel like all the political stuff is just "Politician in the news gives a speech/press conference" instead of doing some creative stuff. Like they had some great Clinton skits in the 90s and some of the Bush/Gore ones in 2000 were good (they had one with Bush and Gore sharing the WH...fighting over the Oval Office desk, the refrigerator etc).

They make fun of everyone. Kind of the point of the show. Sometimes it's even offensive. One needs not to lose their sense of humor when they watch it and, if they don't like it, they can always choose not to watch anymore.
Didn't see that skit, but have seen the show many, many times. The show has certainly gone downhill of late but I think some of the skits are still funny.
