Whitman's mom on young Meg: "If she wasn't at least first or second, she'd be screaming with rage"

Focus, control are keys to Whitman's success
By JULIET WILLIAMS Associated Press Writer

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Much of Meg Whitman's life has been defined by discipline, from plotting her education and career trajectory to her eventual run for California governor.

Her campaign has followed the same methodical template. By generously tapping her personal fortune, Whitman formed a campaign platform and execution plan early with an experienced, high-priced team of Republican operatives.

So far, the nearly $122 million she has poured into her campaign from her personal fortune has pulled her into a tie with Democrat Jerry Brown in public opinion polls.

But the billionaire former chief executive of online auction site eBay is learning that in politics, it's sometimes the intangibles that make the difference.

2. Seems to me she's running for governor because she's bored....Another
opportunity to come in "first" even if she has to buy it...How sad....Hahahaha...

4. Hate to be nitpicky mom...If she came in 2nd she was
second best. If she screamed because she lost, she proved at an early age that mom did not teach her self-discipline. Your daughter grew up feeling entitled and threw fits when she did not get what she felt she deserved.

The pushing incident with an employee during a disagreement between Employee and CEO? Wow, she cares about the "small" people too.

5. I just realized, Meg is unemployable, that's why she's spending so much
much to buy the job.
Consider, with her education and past career one would think companies would be blazing a path to her with job offers and seats on boards of directors.

That doesn't appear to be the case. She's spending way too much money for a job that doesn't pay all that much in a field she's historically shown no interest in. I think she got bored sitting around the McMansion in Atherton, abusing the staff and bailing her sons out of jams and decided "oh, what the heck, I'll just buy a 4-8 year job".

7. So what stops her from starting her own business or businesses?
I would think she can spend her throwaway money on other type of work. I think she wants to be the CEO of California. And After that maybe the CEO of the United States. Bidness is bidness, as Molly Ivins would say.

14. She's so repellant that she can't attact enough other investors
to make a start up worth while.

I think you have a valid point there.

Also, check out what the article has to say about what a stingy bit...I mean "frugal" person she is.

6. 'her marriage of 30 years to Dr. Griffith Harsh IV'
So if she used her married name, she'd be Mrs. Harsh! Sounds terribly suitable for a Republican.

8. In other words, NutMeg has been messed up since birth.
That explains a lot--especially when going over her misanthropic qualities.

9. And in that careful, meticulous career planning, she forgot one thing...
Becoming a decent human being.

11. That's the part I hope Californians will bring into their decision-making process...
...YES, she has no political experience. YES, she is way off base in declaring that California should be "run like a business."

But she simply is not a decent human being, and we...as Californians...deserve much, much better.

It's not the fact that Jerry Brown is perfect. We all know he isn't. But the political process has served up two candidates, and the choice is clear.

10. Isn't that cute? She threw a shit fit if she didn't get her way
We all love to win and some of us took not winning hard at first. But most of us learned somewhere in life that we weren't always going to win and if we couldn't accept that fact life was going to be very tough for us.

It sounds like whitman was encouraged to behave like an ass if she didn't come in first. Which sort of explains her sense of entitlement.

She isn't a "Type A personality". She's a spoiled rich kid who has never grown into a functioning adult.

13. "earned a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Harvard by the time she was 23"
Why not just say "ruined as a human being by the time she was 23" and get it out in the open?

ba-dah-tsss

"has done little in the way of public or community service" - I guess I was more accurate than I thought when I wrote that just now. Mes culpa.

15. Then second in the governor's race should keep her from screaming.
A hundred million dollar rug burn would leave a mark, though.
