Revealed: the REAL reason behind the (now vetoed) notarization bill.
Looks like it was an attempt to do away with any court involvement in foreclosures.

"The potential was for the banks to move their foreclosure offices to these (loose standard) states and then judges in judicial foreclosure states would have to honor these notarizations even though in their states it would not be legal......" - Secretary Brunner"

Read linked page. Is that what is sounds like to you?

2. Republicans have been trying to get an express lane put in for a long time
For all the blabber about getting the goobermint out of our business they work overtime at using government to take any and all civil rights a consumer might ever have within said government.

3. Even though the law makes stealing legal, they still have to produce proof of the 'claim'.
Basing a national economy on taking a cut of transactions while producing nothing is destined to fail.

4. Well, it's not quite that simple
The law would have kept a court in state A from judging that a notarization from state B was itself invalid. The fact that the notarization is valid does not mean the attested document is factual.

6. kinda like the "let insurance run across state lines" (or however they worded it)
"health care reform" touted by the RW "patriots" ...

find one state which wanted to be like that Caribbean Island (with the two-story building housing 10,000 "corporate headquarters") ... little to no regulation or standards at all ...

8. That's how credit card fees worked so well with them.
And help me remember this....were bankruptcy laws always federal, or were they state by state one time?

Yet, when the Repugs wanted to cancel out a Federal law, like voter's rights, they did it by screwing with
voter rolls in key states.

9. Also, remember ... Repugs always are for "States' Rights" and keeping "Big Government" out of lives
until it means that a state decides to legalize marijuana ... then it's "Federal Law" and the "Big Government Knows Better" than you do ...

7. But they said it was standard procedure to destroy the documents??
Which means there is no proof of any wrongdoing. Which means we will pay them for those foreclosures which they destroyed the evidence.
