It's interesting this came up because I was just thinking of her and missing her the other day and had a long walk down memory lane with some of her writing.

54. That's pretty much what I said, isn't it?: "Estranged even beyond the grave." |
|
The few posts "Sis" made before the Admins cut her off were increasingly bitter, in response to all the sympathy and questions from OLL's friends. It was sad to witness, to this observer.
But at least she took the initiative to let DUers know their friend had passed on. Without that you would not have known.

he was the love of my life and he died last Thursday suddenly when his heart gave out. I'm still in shock. JacksonB was a hardcore Democrat who actually influenced me. I joined DU years ago and he registered and donated here because I was so enthusiastic about DU. Unfortunately he never had much time to post but we always dicussed what was going on and he lurked whenever he could. I love him so much and will never get over this loss.

55. Raine, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. You must still be in such shock. |
|
We were where you are in July when our grandchild died of SIDS, like someone blew on a dandelion puff, or like she just left the room.
If there were any words at all that I could say it would be these: when friends and neighbors and relatives ask if there is something they can do to help, please let them help, and if you can, be specific. They want to, and you need it. Make no sudden big changes like moving if you don't absolutely have to. And most of all, day by day put one foot in front of the other, and dear heart, some day you will have walked through this terrible valley and out the other side, although you cannot see it now.
You will never forget the love you had, I promise you.

he is/was appreciated. And I always appreciate when I run across you appearance on a thread. Both because I appreciate you originally you only dived into the conversation because of him (your grandfather, if I recall correctly), and because you have demonstrated an openness to different views - that I appreciate.
Granted we are anonymous people on a message board, I find when I read you, I feel a bit of fondness emanating from the above.
