. . . . . Chilean miners will be brought out of the hole.

I am completely in awe of what the government owned mining company has done or caused to be done. I am certain that anyone can find fault with the lead up to the event, the cause, general mining issues in Chile, etc., but in this specific incident, it is all good.

2. They have done a great job drilling in to get them, but they were VERY LUCKY the miners made it
to a safe place where they were able to hold out until they could be rescued. Otherwise, all this effort would have been to dig out 30+ dead bodies.

3. Yeah, luck was a huge part of all this.
I had mentioned that in an earlier thread about this.

4. Pretty impressive feat that's being achieved right now. The next few days will certainly be high
stress, but hopefully the outcome is 100% successful.

Have you heard how long the trip from 2050' deep in the earth takes to make it to the surface? Seeing that slowly increasing glow of daylight or machine light will be an experience I can't quite imagine for these men.

6. Right now they're saying it will take 20 to 30 minutes to lift each man to the surface
I'm not sure how long it will take to return the capsule.

8. Wonder if they get an ipod to share for the ride up. It would definitely make it easier.
