It was 15 years ago this month when I came out |
|
as a homophobe to my co-workers, Matt and Larry. Since they had a beautiful, loving relationship together, it was easy for me to see that I simply had a childish understanding of what "being gay" meant. Then we became "super-friends" and spent hundreds of hours being 20-something together until I moved away and lost contact with them. My life was changed. The end.

the longest nights; the most drinking, smoking, and partying; the most dancing and clubs; the most blind dates with the occasional single straight female friend with which I always blew it because, though I learned not to discriminate against gays, it would be another decade before I deprogrammed my patriarchical advantages.
