1. Just a mistranslation I'm sure... |
|
Or a right wing source, or CIA sponsored propaganda, or well, something....
"Our greetings and solidarity go to the government of the People's Republic of China," Chavez said, adding: "Viva China! And its sovereignty, its independence and its greatness."
Lol, this is what its come to for Chavez. Wonder if he still considers himself "brothers" with Mugabe and Ahmadinejad?
It's sad that Chavez is the hero of so many here whom are presumably on the progressive left, yet Hugo runs around making common cause with the worlds most totalitarian, anti-progressive states.

of any of the "out" countries, Iran, China, whoever. Now, why would a Latin American leader go so far out of his way to underscore the importance of respecting the sovereignty and independence of nations?

Did he make the remarks or not?
Why do so many Chavez supporters always counter everything with "well, America's done worse" or "well, at least he's calling out the right wing"?
Does Chavez still consider Mugabe or Ahmadinejad his brothers?
Does Chavez still think Carlos the Jackal was a freedom fighter and Idi Amin may have been a misunderstood patriot?
Why does Chavez make common cause with some of the most totalitarian, repressive people and governments on earth?

8. when critics of the Iraqi and Afghan wars win Nobel Prizes |
|
and the American government blasts the Nobel committee's decision as blasphemy and and places their spouses under house arrest then you can compare the two
but until then, keep on being a shill for the totalitarian left on here
you do it so well

7. Many love Mugabe and Ahmadinejad? |

I've come across a few shocking comments supporting these tyrants; but they are rare. For that matter, I have seen a very few comments in my time supporting Stalin, and even one defence of Hitler (that one was TS'd very promptly!)
I am not surprised at the Cuban government's latest comments, as they also defended China over Tiananmen Square.
