"Mocks our sacred institution of marriage and family"? Wow, what an idiot!
Edited on Mon Oct-11-10 09:38 PM by KansasVoter
Paladino (R-NY) said this at a press conference today!

Like Brittany Spears sacred marriage to her best friend? 2 days!
Like Drew Barrymore, Tom Green? 5 months!
Like Drew Barrymore, Jeremy Thomas. 1 month!
Like Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock? 4 months!
Like Nicholas Cage, Lisa Marie? 3 months!

And on and on and on........

Lets face it, this is 100% homophobia! Nothing to do about sacred marriage at all!

In 20 years Homophobia idiots will look like anti inter-racial marriage idiots look now.

2. Marriage is a civil contract. Paladino doesn't know the diff.
You have to get a marriage license from the state, or register a common-law marriage with the state if you live in a common-law state (Like Texas), but you can have either a civil OR a religious ceremony.

Any religious commitments are extra and not required by the state.

:grr: What is it with these idiot fuckheads who went to law school but don't know this basic stuff????

4. I think you nailed it with idiot fuckhead
If all these RW/religious assholes held us all to their standards then my husband and I would never have been allowed to marry because we had no intention of procreating.

7. I was just going to say that how in the devil can this butt
say marriage to him is sacred after that. And he told his wife to accept it and shut up.

10. I am so out of the loop I blinked and missed
the Kid Rock/Pam Anderson nuptuals. I was so surprised that I didn't even notice them getting married I Google-searched. So weird. This is a thing that totally happened of which I could have been aware and was not. Marriage is indeed overrated, and I don't care about gender so much as the unfuckedupness of the parties getting married. Kid Rock and Pam Anderson---fameho trainwreck. But I remain positive that opposite sex marriage is still viable, even if they fucked it up.I think my straight relationship is unimpacted, anyway.

11. I work in JerryFalwellVille here in Virginia.
My bumper sticker gets a good deal of attention:

Want to protect the "sanctity of marriage"?
Then outlaw divorce.

I, too, can't stand the hypocrisy.

12. If heterosexual marriage is so fucking sacred, maybe divorce should be outlawed.
I'm just saying...
