Comparing Corporate Media's Defense Of U.S. Chamber Versus Acorn Allegations. Transparency? |
|
Have you noticed how the corporate media has been busily defending the Chamber on the grounds that there is no hard proof of the exact amount of foreign money being used to fund attacks on Democrats when the whole point is that the Chamber does not disclose its donors, so you never know?
You would think that the media would demand transparency, but no. Instead, the corporate media repeatedly plays the talking point that it is okay for the Chamber not to disclose its donors, thus we should trust them when they say no foreign money is being using to fund political ads.
Compare this to attacks on liberals and progressives where the media quickly recites, then repeats right wing talking points even in the face of contrary evidence.
The Corporate Media will not bite the hand that feeds it, that being its corporate advertisers and sponsors.

1. "the media quickly recites, then repeats right wing talking points even in the face of evidence" |
|
That's pretty much the key.
That's what they did with Acorn, that's what they are doing now with the Chamber.
That's what they did with "Death Panels" and so on and so on.

3. The Chamber Has The Evidence, But They Are Refusing To Disclose It... |
|
...and the media gives them a free pass.
But when it is a progressive group being attack, the media happily repeats and recites the talking points while ignoring the contrary evidence.

4. actually the dems got the media off the hook for ACORN |
|
the dem party caved so completely that it's hard to blame the media very much.
If the dems had stood up for ACORN the way Rove is standing up for the Chamber, and the media ignored it or took Breitbart's side, it would be another story, but unfortunately we'll never know.

7. The Media Gave Itself A Free Pass. Look at CBS's Interview of Axelrod |
|
The corporate media is bending over backwards to defend the Chamber rather than hitting on the basic fact that there is no transparency regarding who is contributing to the Chamber. Conversely, the corporate media chose to ignore the obvious holes in the Acorn fabrication. Do you think Fox News would have been fair and accurate if some Democrat rose to defend Acorn. No freakin way. Instead, any Democrat who defended Acorn was lumped in as a co-conspirator.
Once again, compare the kid gloves treatment of the Chamber versus Acorn.

|
Edited on Tue Oct-12-10 11:47 AM by SpiralHawk
but went totally sloppy bonkers on Clinton and Lewinsky.
Why isn't a story that a notorious republicon B & D male prostitute frolics at Bush's Republicon White House over 200 times -- with overnighters according to the official Secret Service records - a story?
RepubliCorporate Media on bended knee to the RepubliCorp Borg.
