Good god! I wondered if the Freepers were responding to the Chile miner rescue... |
|
Here you go:
FoxNews Coverage of Chilean Miners Rescue, Too Much? --- I sympathize with the families of the Chilean miners who are currently being rescued, but I can't remember a Media event so covered since I was a 12 year old kid during the JFK assasination coverage.
Why is this event so covered? --- The JFK Assasination was covered on and on and rightly so, but this coverage seems too much over the top. What gives? --- Feel good story.
Slow news day.
Nothing awful happening at the moment, and
It’s a nice break from politics. --- I agree. I’m afraid I’m being self-absorbed but I was bored after about 10 minutes. It seems to be a distraction from the election as well as what Obama is doing to our country. This is an uplifting story, but in the big scheme of things, probably isn’t that important except to the families involved.

1. They really are a bunch of heartless assholes, aren't they? |
|
Self-absorbed is putting it mildly. Their heads are all the way up their asses.

Was it even on all day? I think it's about time this story got some television coverage. It hasn't gotten enough over the last months as far as I'm concerned. Self-absorbed isn't the word for those shitheads.

7. Watch them crank up the "ignore" when the miners are all rescued and |
|
the focus switches to what a nightmare mine that place was.. one union miner today called it a dog-hole mine..
I'm sure they have all been tippy-toeing around this issue until the men were out & safe, but watch it shift pretty quickly..

11. The 2nd miner out has been cleared by the medics to do an interview, and |
|
he's saying just that.

8. I believe that Rolling Stone article is right-they're narcissists. |
|
If it was them or one of their family in the mine the media coverage would be insufficient if it was 24/7 on every channel. But it's not so who cares? They can't see past the tip of their own noses.

There are dozens of events in the world this year alone.

10. Most of us can identify with the miners and their families. |
|
We can empathize with them and that keeps us glued to our tv or computer. Psycopaths don't do that. They are no more moved by the miners' plight than they are by so many poisoned cockroaches. After all, the miners are just a bunch of brown people who speak a foreign language.
