My faith is in human beings |
|
It always has been. It just took me a lot of years to realize this. I have faith that every man has the ability to do the right thing but sometimes they lack the necessary support and encouragement, and guidance to fulfill their abilities. That is all.

I guess that makes us fuzzy-headed idealists.
I think single-payer health care is a classic example. I am convinced that if Americans were provided with accurate information, not fact-free fearmongering and self-serving corporate propaganda, that all but a small minority -- selfish medical-industrial-complex fat cats and bigoted folks who detest the idea of coming to the aid of everyone in need -- would support single-payer.

I always thought that we would have been better off if we framed the debate in more of a philosophical way we would have won the nation over. Every time I ask people if they think our health should be traded like a commodity on wallstreet or if our health should be open for profit, they usually state that it shouldn't. Defining the issue is half the battle in my opinion. Yeah I may be an idealist, but I have plenty of clarity!!:pals:
