Being glued to the rescue operation in Chile, I can't help but be impressed by the
President, Sebastian Pinera. He seems to be genuinely happy to see each of the miners, and I saw a CNN clip where he was speaking to a miner on a stretcher saying - you are so brave and courageous, you take care of yourself and look forward to a wonderful life ahead of you, you deserve it.

Seems like a NICE man. I did a little Google on him and apparently he's a billionaire, one of Chile's most wealthy, and he divested his interests to take this office lest there be conflict of interest. It's hard to believe in this day and age, but perhaps he's someone who really wants to help his country's people? To give back?

2. I noticed him also, still awake and as happy and encouraging with
each and every miner coming up as he was with the first. Handsome man also. I need to leave the apt. for a while and just can't leave CNN..Their coverage is superb.

3. The rescue op also shows that American solidarity w/workers and help goes a long way.

All over the Latin Americas and Caribbean, Cuba is a beloved neighbor that has extended help, in the form of disaster relief, doctors and educators. They show their solidarity with Cuba more so than ever.

We could learn a lot from Cuba's lesson, as well as the heartfelt gratitude and love felt by the Chileans towards the Americans who came to aid in the rescue.

Bravo!
