How do you measure "enthusiasm"? |
|
We are told that the Democrats have an "enthusiasm gap". They simply aren't as thrilled as the Republicans are to vote in the next election? Did Obama really piss them off that much??
The "Tea-baggers" left the Republican Party because they were not "enthused". They were disappointed and discouraged by their Party? But they are now the most "enthused" of all voters, according to the media reports. Their Republican brethren cannot be too happy with what their Party left them and the nation with on January 20th of 2009?
The Democrats worked hard and were very "enthusiastic" when Obama took office? What happened? Do they feel their hard work was not appreciated? How did they lose their enthusiasm and the Republicans gain it? What caused that total 180 degree switch?
Of course, it depends on whether you believe the talk about an "enthusiasm" gap"? I suppose they got that from doing polls? If they are wrong on this one, there will be a large price to pay with loss of credibility. Someone will have to take responsibility.

2. There is a glittery-eyed-derangement gap between the teabag voters and Democratic voters |

Teabag votes are rapid to vote. I'm enthusiastic about voting. But I am not like a crazed hopped up rapid dog about it.

and being a boomer, have a tendency to seeing the right with a severely cynical eye, but this looks to me like a response from the powers that be to grant the right an advantage. Lie enough, and you can make it true with the power of suggestion sort of thing.
Do I think there's a real enthusiasm gap? Oh, get a grip....it's the republicans who have been tossing out incumbents, remember?

I think it is more power of suggestion than any enthusiasm polls they may have done. Sometimes I think, to escape outright rebellion, they make the decision who they want to put into power. At least, they believe they have that power, in my opinion. The anger and hatred is so deep in the Republican Party that they have to win something to keep the peace.

Actually, the pundits and their polster made the shit up about a year ago, and have been sticking to this line ever since, in hopes that it would come true. Sad thing...it kind of has. :(

Maybe you can't accurately measure enthusiasm, and the 'gap' is made up?! I've been hearing this for weeks and it gets an eye roll from me every time. Where the hell is this coming from -
