Sestak Takes The Lead
Hart Research for the DSCC. 10/8-10/10, 604 likely voters. MoE 4.0:

Sestak (D): 47
Toomey (R): 44

This is the first poll in a while to show Sestak ahead in Pennsylvania, and it’s an internal poll. However, my research on polling averages suggests that including internal polls in the final averages actually increases the accuracy of the averages. Also, it is the first Pennsylvania poll that will be included in the final Senate Snapshot, since the majority of its interviews were conducted on or after October 8th.

Bottom line: even with the caveats, this poll shows Pennsylvania is a very winnable campaign. As such, we are adding Joe Sestak to the Orange to Blue page, and are looking for 500 people to contribute $10 to support Joe.

3. Fin A Yeah ...
I have posted this a few times ...

The pols for the last three statewide races, BO, Rendell and Casey showed them winning by good margins, and people will say in that regard they were accurate ... BUT, on average, the final RCP average for each race undershot the final D percentage by about three points ...

BO's final RCP average was 51%, he got got 54% ... ect ...

Sestak ran about 7 points back on Specter about a month out of the primary, and ran him down and won by about 7 ... He isn't going to win by 7, but if the polls have it even, or even have him down a point or so, he can win ...

I got called on this poll, btw ...

5. More ...
Pa has a substantial lead in registered Ds vs registered Rs, and again, the last three statewide races, BO, Rendell and Casey, the D won by at least 10 points ... The state is not as purple as the MSM wants to make it ...

Sestak is a DAMN good man, Toomey is the prototype corporatist hard right winger ...

This is a race people should get behind ...

Again, many thanks to people coming in from out of state to help him out ...

I have a feeling I'll be spending election day in Pennsylvania not Delaware
If Chris Coons is leading by +10% my efforts would be better served in a state where we need the help!

Hell I was thinking of possibly driving to West Virginia, the closest state with the greatest need but I'd rather be driving to Philly!

15. I've done campaigning for Sestak before I know he's a good person
but to me having O'Donnell as my own personal senator is way worse that a neighboring state stuck with Toomey.

So just hope that Coons stays over 10pts and I'll be roadtripping to Philly!

23. Yeah ...
O'Donnell has no business being on the ticket, just complete childishness from the electorate on that end ... Toomey and her are about the same in terms of far rightness, but Toomey, even being the complete unabashed corporatist/big money bag man that he is, at least is competent to do the job ...

20. Great Ad: Toomey saying his voting record is identical to Santorum's
One of the great ads being run by Sestak is a video of Toomey saying that his own voting record is virturally identical to Rick Santorum's.

Talking about Toomey's connections to China, etc. Very good. They seem to have worked.

27. His ads have been very good
right to the point:

Toomey sez Toomey = Santoro (with direct quote from Toomey)
Toomey sez "abortion providers should be jailed" (with quote of him saying that)
Toomey sez "corporations shouldn't pay taxes" (with audio)

Not "smears" - just his own words - making it clear to dopey independents who aren't paying any attention that this guy is WAY WAY WAY to the right
