CA DU Members, do you think Prop 19 will pass?? |
|
Just wondering what the general feeling is in your area.
The polls are all over the place. Last one from Reuters showed it losing.
I have never used pot but I think it should pass. It is so much safer than Alcohol. And locking people up for it is ridiculous.
Just wondering what the general feeling is with three weeks left.

Gotta go now.
Cheeto dust all over my fingers.
Seriously even if it doesn't pass it will be beneficial to have it on the ballot because it will bring out younger voters who will also vote for Democratic candidates.
Sort of the Democratic equivalent of putting all those anti gay marriage things on the ballot to get the old farts to the polls where they vote for the repubs.

I think it WILL pass. The mormon church and focus on the family are NOT pouring millions of dollars in to defeat it (like they did with prop h8). I think it will also help Jerry Brown win - liberal voters will come out for prop. 19 and most will vote for Jerry.

4. I'm more worried about 23.. and I wish we could END this proposition nonsense |

altogether... Outside groups with shitloads of money gathering signatures by lying their asses off, and then dumb people vote in lots of idiotic "laws" that we end up having to pay for:grr:..and then work hard to UNDO.
The marijuana thing , if passed, will just end up in court and cost us more money. I'm not for or against using it, but I wish there were a better way to legislate than the way we do it now:(

It's very close.
I've been going back and forth about it myself. Sales to people between 18 and 21 years of age would be prohibited. That's pretty lame. Also, we'll only be able to carry an ounce around with us. Might be tough getting through the day. :P
I'm voting in favor of it. Time to move shit forward, even though the prop isn't perfect. :hippie:

6. I think there should be a pot initiative on the ballot in every state. |
|
No matter if it passes or not, it gets progressives out to vote.
