Member Of TV's Duggar Family Runs For Office

TONTITOWN, Ark. -- John Duggar, one of the older sons on "TLC's 19 Kids and Counting" is running for alderman of Tontitown against Mike Zulpo.

Duggar said he's ready to make a difference.

"If the economy is hurting, all the people are hurting. With taxes and everything, we should not be raising taxes. That's when the city should look at areas they can cut," said Duggar.

Duggar said he hopes people who follow his life on television will support him at the polls.

1. I'd say the Duggars can look for areas they can cut . . . .
But then, sometimes I just can't help myself.

The town could end up looking like Rock Ridge, where everyone is named Johnson

5. A minor fraction of the strain that any family on the Forbes 400 list does.
I'm no fan of the Duggers but to try to paint them as environmental villains is quite frankly silly at best. I doubt that 10,000 Dugger families have the environmental impact of 1 BP CEO.

I would bet that if you averaged out the per person carbon footprint of the Duggers compared to the per person average of the average American, the Duggers would come out significantly lower. Some of the reasons for that would be that they home school so no need to transport kids, they don't buy a hell of a lot of new clothes, they don't believe in running up credit card debt so I doubt they're at the Walmart buying a lot of unnecessary imported crap.

6. People watch that show
the same way people turn their head to look at a 4 car pile up on the road. Probably most wouldn't vote for the pile up.

9. If they keep reproducing at the current rate...
there will be enough Duggars to take over both houses of Congress and all state governorships in 35 years.
