My lifestyle choice and apologies. |

Back in the good old days when houses were being built, I interviewed for an architecture firm. Based in a more red area than others, it had an office in the SW where I was. The interview went swell. I was offered the job. During the interview, I told the person, who was one of the head people that I was gay. I wanted to make sure there were no issues. They appreciated that and said there were no problems.
We went to lunch and met another person to be hired with me, and all was great. The head architect of the office I was to work in went also, but was not involved in the interview or hiring process.
The first day there was a staff meeting in the morning. The head architect was there conducting it and before starting, the usual banter was exchanged. Overnight trips to sites were brought up. Past trips were brought up. The following items were the source of hilarity.
"So did he climb into bed with you"...two males. "Did you guys fuck or what? "I don't want to go into that as we are now lovers". "Maybe the new guy (not me) can be a fresh ass for ****". "Yes, I think the whole office should be fag". 90% of the above instigated by the head architect.
Others ensued.
Thinking this was an abberation, I ignored it. In my new office, a guy walked by, popped his head in and another guy as walking by grabbed his ass, and then the grabee relpied "homo!"
I picked up my stuff and left. I called the person who interviewed me. She was appalled.
Ten minutes later, I received a phone call from the head architect.
I am SO SORRY! Will you come back? We really kid around, and I have no problems with your LIFESTYLE choice. I corrected him on the lifestyle choice. He apologized.
Went back, and a week later, in a meeting, he said that lifestyle choices made by others in society were causing problems. Then I left for good.
Apologies for things like what was said are never meant. They mean it, and they believe it.
Now we know about inner beliefs of our President and the people that work for him.
Apology not accepted. Misspoke. More like the truth slipped out.

or perhaps "subhuman"?
My goodness but Skinner & Co. must be beaming with pride at the quality of discussion going on here.

To completely dehumanize a person who has spoken out for GLBT rights seems a bit of a stretch to me. You may want to rethink this statement.

7. That is a disgusting thing to say. I'd say with your remarks you are the "souless" one. |

8. Does it help to dehumanize and demonize a Democratic friend to human rights... |
|
... who has proven herself with her career and choices?
How does this help the OP or anyone else?

9. So her good works mean nothing to you? |

You're ready to say such horrid things based on one comment from a human being. All human beings are less than perfect, you know. All of them, regardless of their sexuality. I would say in equal measure, across all imaginary lines drawn through society.

4. Holy shit. I thought this story was going to end up being a joke. |
|
Hard to believe that people like that still exist and are able to clothe and feed themselves without assistance.
