Edited on Thu Oct-14-10 04:25 PM by Hissyspit
@BarackObama: Anybody who wants to serve in our armed forces and make sacrifices on our behalf should be able to. DADT will end & it will end on watch.

His ability to stay above the fray, to go about doing the right thing without hindrance from nay-sayers, to decide on the best course of action and stick to it no matter how much BS is thrown his way, is one of his best personality traits, IMHO.
I'd never be able to stomach all that, and I'm no shrinking violet.

7. Well, can you blame people who don't believe him, after |
|
his DOJ has vigorously fought to keep the law on the books, and while his DOD has continued to expel gay soldiers--without even a moratorium while the policy is reviewed?
His answer is that the Senate will take care of it. Who on earth believes the Senate is going to do the right thing AFTER Democrats lose 7-12 seats in the coming elections?

And he'd better be prepared if the Senate fails to rise to the occasion--which at this point would hardly be a surprise.

And right at the same time his DoJ was appealing the stay on enforcement of DADT by Judge Phillips.
Plus..."his watch"? As I recall, he said he was working to end it this year...in the State of the Union address. The timeline seems to be...flexible.

|
in this administration ending it, does it? He's made promises before, people want to see action now. A lot of people's Civil Rights are at stake. Justice denied is justice delayed. How many more dismissals before they get this passed? And I heard the reason he hasn't done it is because 'he doesn't have the votes'. So where are the votes coming from now then?
