Is Your Vote Sure To Be Counted If You Vote Early?

I ask because I thought the meme a few years ago was that the early votes were only counted if a race was close. I know that's true with provisional ballots, but what about regular votes.

Anybody know?

2. depends on if they are lost in the mail or thrown in the trash. early voting is not secure. the most

secure voting is at the precinct by hand with witnesses from interested parties. but that's "too slow" or "old-fashioned" or harder to commit fraud, so speed and insecure methods replace them.

3. I think normally early votes are counted first. Thats why you see huge vote counts with 0% precincts

in -- because all the precincts get their early vote reported immediately, but none of the precincts are finished until they count election-day votes.

4. In Texas

When the Election Judges pick up the supplied they are given a sheet of paper (or sheets) with the names of early voters. The Election Judge, the Alt Judge, or the Clerk must then go through the rolls to mark the early voters so that they can't come in on voting day and vote again.

Early votes are counted just like any other. If you're in a place where it's a rule that any vote isn't counted except under certain conditions, you need to report it.

6. In North Carolina

and I believe most states, it's the absentee ballots that are counted first which is why you see vote totals with 0% precincts reporting. There is no precinct for absentee ballots.

OTOH, "early votes" are just like voting in your precinct. While the location where you cast your ballot might not be the same as on election day, the ballot you use is the same one you would receive in your precinct. These "early votes" are counted at the same time as the votes placed on election day.

7. Texas early votes are done electronically so why would they not be included.

I thought it was just absentee ballots(paper) were likely not to be counted.
