Historically Cuban-Americans elected to represent Florida have poor work histories, with the worst ones expressly catering to their exile community over the interests of Floridians and Americans in general. That is predictable behavior, and their past associations with various terrorist groups are a matter of record.
If elected, Rubio will be from a new generation of the Cuban-American politicians, but I expect him to be completely lackluster in some ways as was his immediate predecessor, Sen. Mel Martinez of Orlando, who was a product of the 1960's Operation Peter Pan and sponsored by the most reactionary faction of the Catholic Church.
On the other hand, Rubio appears to be an extremist in a different manner than Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, and Mario Diaz-Balart. As a Tea Party favorite, I would expect Rubio to want to dismember social programs if Florida, while championing increased military spending, especially as it might negatively affect the Republic of Cuba. I believe that he would have no reservation about destroying large environmental areas of Florida in order to increase commercial land development and satisfy some of his friends (wealthy Republican-allied real estate tycoons).

3. I had the local 11:00 news on last night |

(here in FL) and the news was that Rubio is now so far ahead that he will suspend his ads and move his money to other campaigns that need help. This really shocked and scared me. Is Marco Rubio really going to be our next senator from Florida? OH NOOOOOOO!!!

because the Repugs have been entrenched in this state en masse for a decade.
I'm hoping that the polls are all wrong, but in a worst case scenario, this novice will be put in his place if he is elected.
I've voted absentee already, although I should have switched from Meek to Crist. I think there was a lack of foresight by Fla. Democrats in predicting this predicament. If Rubio wins, it will be on an awfully small percentage.

7. I Think It's Time To Let This One Go |

It's ironic. Meek won the nomination because no prominent Democrat wanted it because Crist looked like a shoo in, which he was until he got teabagged, The Democrats thought they could "live with" Crist but Rubio is scaring the bejesus out of them.
