More than 85,000 apply for several hundred Delta flight attendant jobs
More than 85,000 people have applied for jobs as Delta Air Lines flight attendants since the Atlanta carrier announced two months ago that it planned to hire.

Delta in August said it would call flight attendants back to work from furlough and then hire new ones, targeting those with foreign language skills for international flights.

This week, Chief Executive Richard Anderson said in a message to employees that all flight attendants on voluntary furlough have had a chance to return to work, and about 425 will begin working next year.

“That still leaves a few hundred positions to fill,” Anderson said. All told, the company is filling about 1,000 flight attendant positions, Delta spokeswoman Gina Laughlin said. ........(more)

1. That can't be true! The Republicans told me the unemployed liked it that way...
...just sitting on barstools or laying in bed eating bon bons.

8. So even when we have control of the white house,
senate and congress, it's still not our fault? At what point do we accept responsibility?

I really get the feeling that a lot of Dems are hoping we lose control, just so it will be easier to blame someone else again.

11. Please, just come on and say what you are implying!
By saying that we (democrats) have the final say, and the economy still sucks, I'm a traitor?

Have you seen the bullying on DU thread yet?

12. The economy is still suffering from the policies of Ronal Reagan...
...and the Dems have got it turning, but it'll take more than 20 months.

5. Reading comp issues?
Care to re-read that article again?

Then perhaps add a few on companies sitting on cash or buying back stock.

But let's start with articles like the above. Slowly sport they are coming back.
