One of our neighbors said he's much rather have Pres. Palin than Obama!

One of our neighbors stopped to talk to my usband today. He was out doing some yard work and courteously stopped to talk to him. During their chat the conversation somehow got to him criticizing Obama, so my hubby said "Who would you rather have President Obama or President Palin?" This nutball said "Oh I'd much rather have Palin!" He listens all the time to Neil Boortz on the radio in the AM here in Ga and apparently loves all the RWers. The conversation ended abruptly when my hubby looked at him & said well your just damn nuts! He then turned away from this guy and stated up the tiller again which drowned out any further conversation.

Everybody around here is like that guy, and I get so disenchanted. On one hand I'd love to move to some other State to get some sane neighbors, but we're both retired & our son & grandkids live in this crazy state. Thank all of youon Du for being here because when I get disbondant, I know I can always come here and find a friend.

honestly, I would never want to drive a school bus because I don't have the patience with kids that you have to have to do that but when someone choses that job so they can have summers off and them bitches about not haveing any $$, they piss me off!

BTW, I nevr talk politics with anyone here in Ga. I've come to recognize I'm a very small minority and it's just not worth arguing with fools.

4. They're idiots. Really. And not nice people, deep down - a good thing for you to

remember, since you live so close to them. I know many people like them, incl. my father.

Generally, they don't wanna know what they don't know. My dad is filled with hatred...hatred for Obama, the n_____, the deficit (the deficit didn't mean anything to him when it was Bush's), Obamacare, etc. He just spouts platitudes that he doesn't really know anything about. But it doesn't really matter to him. You can point out how he's mistaken on a point...but it doesn't matter. The point is...he is filled with hatred for thoz liberals, and he's just doing what all the good little Republican soldiers are doing...walking around spewing hatred and venom and misinformation.

Maybe you can do what I do...I read DU to get information and seek out liberal points of view. I try to make acquaintances with moderates and liberals...or nonpolitical people. I remind myself that history shows that we are on the right side of MOST of the issues. I watch a variety of political programs. And of course, I VOTE!

Hang in there, and try not to talk politics with those people. It's pointless. They already know that they're uninformed. And they've made up their minds that that's the way they want it.
