1. I have been stunned by them. I can't remember
in times past that the ads have been so vicious. I was called by someone promoting Alexander and saying terrible things about G. Fraley out of Franklin Co. She started off by telling me Fraley voted for Obamacare and went on and on. I told her I was very glad he did and hung up.

10. I hope so too - boomerang. There was a huge article in our local paper - "OUTSIDE MONEY" flooding in
the State. They are going after my good progressive Congressional Rep, again with NUTSY claims about the stimulus. Our state got a lot of stimulus money, and it created a lot of jobs and saved jobs. How the hell is that a bad thing?

They are even pumping money into a race where the Republican doesn't stand a chance in hell. The Dem just keeps hitting him back, poking holes in every one of the ridiculous ads paid for by one of those shadowy Karl Rove type groups.

5. hmm ... when the "cash for clunkers" was put into place, you had the workers saying
"Make sure you regulate it to say 'Buy American'"

Of course, suddenly, the Repugs with the "auto factories" in their states (with foreign names and owners) started whining about their poor little workers who wouldn't get their jobs saved ...

and now, of course, the inevitable whining about how "Obama let $$$ go to foreign corporations!" ...

:silly:

11. Found a YouTube link.

Odd that they don't mention that Republicans opposed ending tax breaks to stop overseas hiring:
Obama said that while companies that conduct business internationally do make an important contribution to the U.S. economy, it doesn't make sense to grant them tax breaks when companies at home are struggling to rebound from the economic crisis.

Obama has said he wants revenue collected from ending the tax provisions to go to other business tax breaks, by making permanent research and development tax credits and allowing businesses next year to write off all new equipment costs.

Our local politicians are attacking Obama instead of their actual opponents.
The lies are unbelievable.

17. I think you may be right
I ran a booth for my candidate at a local fall festival a few weeks ago.
I met quite a few long-time Democrats who were in town for it.
The sentiment that I got was that MANY of them feel if the Democrats don't win this round...then the country is irretrievably lost.
A few even said they had checked into becoming expatriates.
We are indeed living in scary times and we are in the middle of an epic struggle for good and evil.
If only it were that easy...because some of the evil has permeated into our own party.:(

18. It's what republicans have always done. They create a big mess
and spend money like a drunk sailor on shore leave when they're in power. They'll start unnecessary wars to enrich the bastards that helped get them in office. They'll reward the rich bastards that send our jobs overseas tax cuts. Then when the people say enough, they vote in democrats to clean up the mess. This is when the republicans sit back on their big fat pimply hemorrhoidal asses, make up shit and point their shit stained fingers at the democrats. The democrats are the only ones with balls to do what is nessary to keep the country running, and the only smart thing would be to leave the democrats in power. But the people in this country are dumb and history has a way of repeating itself. It's Groundhog Day every election year.
