Once upon a time, a bunch of rich planters got a whole bunch of poor whites to go to war for them and their profits by screeching "state's rights"! BUT guess what happened? First thing that thar Confederate government had to do was form a STRONG CENTRAL GOVERNMENT (gasp) in order to raise money and troops to fight that war. Then the rich boys all started to fight among themselves....eventually Alexander Stephens (VP) went storming home to GA calling Davis a goddamn dictator, etc., etc. So, they had to BECOME what they were bitching about in the first place. 260,000 deaths later (the American holocaust)that whole crazy assed idea hit the crapper. Times haven't changed much, have they? Pssst, teabaggers---watch out what your wishing for. It literally could kill you.
