Advice for young political players: If you are serious about running for high office, don't be photographed in duckie pyjamas next to a lingerie model.
Evidently, Texas Republican House candidate Blake Farenthold didn't get that memo.

The Democrats were getting a lot of mileage at Mr Farenthold's expense this week, after managing to get their hands on an embarrassing snap of the married father of two snuggling up to a young woman wearing next to nothing.

7. I got a buddy pretty good awhile back. Some of us expect him

to run for public office in Idaho some day. A couple of us were at our old high schools football game and we came up with a good gag. One of them was his best buddy and I told him to say that we went to my house for a couple beers after the game and I showed everyone a picture of him taking a bong hit. There is no such picture but he wouldn't know that for sure.
It didn't take long for him to come up with an excuse to come over and bring up the pictures. He wanted to see them and I know he would have grabbed the bong hit picture, if it existed, and kept it. I had to have his best buddy that was in on it convince him that it was just a gag.

It was at a costume party fundraiser FFS. Now since, that looks like a very small strip of another fat bloke in jim-jams on the left there, it's not unreasonable odds that it was a themed party.

Here in Australia we have a number of state and national pyjama themed fundraisers for the homeless that are annual events.

And here in Australia we appreciate a good joke when a bloke plays up to sterotypes in a no win situation such as being a polititian caught in front of a camera next to a scantily clad blonde while wearing rubber ducky jammies. (Just please, let there not be a drop seat in back.)

Random personal smears say as much about the speaker as they do of target. If he's a civil liberties nightmare say so. If he wants to tax you harder to give breaks to the rich say that. But really? He's a fat bloke who likes a beer and a risque joke? At the very least tell us he went home with the blonde and not his wife.
