Former girlfriend of debate protestor: 'He's made death threats'

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police arrested a man waving a meat cleaver at Sen. Patty Murray's supporters before her debate with Republican challenger Dino Rossi Thursday night.

Friday, officers released pictures of the weapons taken off Johnny Sieler, 50, when he was arrested outside Ferris High School on Spokane's South Hill.

Friends and family of Sieler told KREM News he is psychotic and needs help.

"He has no control of what he's doing," Sieler's ex girlfriend Theresa Stapleton said. "He's made death threats on people."
