Republican Sen. John McCain says he would filibuster any attempt to end the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy on gay troops if it came up in the Senate during a lame-duck session after the election.

1. That's why it should not be appealed.
Anyone who thinks the Republicans won't vote "no," is delusional.

4. Has his comments about Barbara Boxer been posted yet.
While speaking for Fiorini he starting talking about the military and said he knows all about Boxer when it comes to the military. You could see the steam starting to come out his ears and then said he has had the extreme displeasure of serving with her all these years. I laughed. The man is unhinged.

5. The American military seems to be without honor
The fact is that they sought out the assistance of our NATO allies for all of their war adventures, and the fact is that gay and lesbian troops serve openly with all of those allies save for Turkey. So they are people who are willing to take the aid of people whom they will then turn around and slander as unfit.
Not one of our military leaders, not one protested our troops taking the help of gay and lesbian troops, in fact, our military and political leaders basically begged for that help.
They ask people to risk their lives, then they pretend those same people are deeply flawed. This is not honorable, this is the very opposite of honor.

6. We need to start making them actually filibuster.
Every time they threaten to filibuster, invite them to stop saying they'll do and actually do it.

I would like to see McCain stand up there for even one day and filibuster. These guys don't have the ability to filibuster.

7. All they have to do is vote against cloture. That's it, that is the modern day version of fillibust
er. It isn't like the old movies. All they need to do to fillibuster is vote against cloture.
