A.B Stoddard On MSNBC - Jesus fucking christ
She is supposed to be doing the "news" analysis of the Obama administration going after the chamber of commerce for receiving foreign contributions. Her bias in this and how she tries to hide is downright laughable. She rehashed every talking point the right has used on this. That the American people simply don't care, that the chamber of commerce is just trying to protect our business interests overseas so ofcourse they get money from overseas, and at one point she let it slip this is just the administration trying to scare voters...quickly adding "I mean scare voters about his issue of foreign contributions".

Again, this was the "news", not opinion part of MSNBC. And these are the guys that are supposed to be the left's response to Fox News?

2. Saw it and you are correct. Did you catch how she managed
to say there is 'no evidence' to the Dem's claims of foreign money?

3. At the very least there is a bunch of circumstantial evidence
And the USCC has done nothing to offer evidence to refute the charges. One could infer that the stonewalling is confirmation that foreign money is going toward campaigning.

21. This framing is a loser, anyway.
If it could be revealed that the piles of money being shoveled at the GOP were entirely domestic, the Right would crow--because we worship money, and the only way we've been able to find any outrage is by hinting that much of it is foreign.

The Big Money in the hands of the few is our enemy, always has been, and there is hard evidence of this.

5. Yea, & George Will on ABC just said "Money is simply a way
spmeone speaks to advocate an opinion, so it's doesn't matter where the $$ comes from." Christian told him that Judge John Paul Stevens said "Money doesn't speak!" but he would have none of that kind of talk.

7. interestingly, so many of the stories are about the OBAMA administration attacking on this point
not the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE funnelling foreign money into american elections.

as if the story is the messenger and the only thing going on here is a political tactic of a partisan politician.
those poor whipping boys at the chamber; why doesn't that bad obama administration leave them alone?

:sarcasm:

why she's supposed to be 'the left's response to faux' because imo they're pretty closely aligned with the r/w.

9. Candy Crowley on CNN just repeated the claim of no evidence
of foreign money for the CoC ads. She explained that foreign companies pay dues, but no one has been able to prove that ads are financed.

It must be the right wing talking point of the day.

11. Well, did Axlerod present any evidence when he had a chance?
The answer is no.

The reason the media is, across the board, so dubious about the claim is that there isn't actually any evidence foreign money is paying for any of these ads.

There is only evidence that the chamber collects dues and perhaps donations from foreign companies. They claim they keep it separate, the dollar amount the chamber collects from foreign sources is only a fraction of the total expenditures, therefore the media tends to dismiss the claims.

It also kind of does smack of desperation. We've passed HCR, Financial Reform, a major stimulus, equal pay, etc, and as Bob Schieffer said last Sunday "this is all you've got"? Why are we not running on any of our major accomplishments? Worse, why are we running AWAY from all of our major accomplishments.

My God, if we're going to pass landmark, historic bills you'd think we'd be ready to defend and campaign on our legislative successes.

12. I agree, it's not what I expected the Dems to run on. But I can't
help but be skeptical about this media push to defend the CoC ads when they directly benefit from the advertising $.

16. All the money goes into the same account. Chamber pushes OUTSOURCING so it is a legit issue
even without the foreign money. Chamber pushes outsourcing and supports the same Republicans who killed every jobs and anti-outsourcing bill that came from the Democrats.

13. The evidence is only circumstantial...
The CoC has taken donations from foreign sources and they are spending about $175 million dollars on Republican campaigns. Are they spending the money from foreign sources? What do you think?

15. We aren't idiots. The Chamber has one jug. They pour American Water in it, They pour Foreign Wate
Foriegn Water in it. Then they pour a glass of water from the jug, claiming only American water is in the glass, because they have a "system"

20. Mike Viqueira on MSNBC this morning...
was naming off all the places President Obama will be campaigning for Dems and said it was the President's "attempt to hold off what is otherwise looking like a republican tsunami on election day" (paraphrasing).

That was this morning at around 8:15.
