I LOVE Autumn and yet part of it, I abhor.
Here it is, the most beautiful palette of Mother Nature. Crisp, gorgeous, magnificent visuals if you are in the leaf turning climates, overflowing with memories of childhood and best of all...hoodie weather!

And yet every year, instead of the neighborhoods and roadways being dashed with the natural colors, or less steamy heat, we are bombarded by political campaign signs. Doesn't matter what party, what position. We know we will be bombarded with cardboard crap. And that also defines what comes out of the TV, radio and mouths of every politician whose *job* is on the line.

In my life I have not heard or seen such intense crap. None of it will change my beliefs. As disappointed as I may be (consistently it seems) with Government, I will support those whose beliefs match mine. I believe in my President and the hope of change over what I find a repulsive Republican alternative on any level.

But the CRAP this time is just so glaring.

During the most breathtaking season, there are jarring reminders everywhere of multitudes of liars and bullshitters and the easily manipulated stupidity of some...many...too many...citizens. And bottom line....the screwing over, somehow, of the everyday woman and man.

Yeah, it's Democracy, it's the American Way, it's one of the uglier visual side effects of "Freedom".
Yeah, I could go live in a mountain retreat in October and not have to see, read or listen to any of the crap.(actually no, I can't afford it )Yeah,I could tune it all out and not even go to the polls in Nov. (thank-you, no, enough people choose that path as it is)

It's just...sad. And I hate it. In the most glorious, breathtaking season I cherish....I hate it.

peace,
Lilly

2. We have "campaign" signs posted here
that say "Elect Bob Candidate for Anything" - and show a local radio call station. They're posted all over town and mixed in with other candidate signs.

What a frickin waste of money. And trees.
