3. That was my first thought...this whole story must be a joke, but the WSJ |
|
is not noted for humor...or, lately, common sense, either.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/01/how-rupert-murdoch-won-th_n_596584.htmlRupert Murdoch is like one of those wasps that burrow into some living insect and insert their eggs in so the larvae can feed from the inside-out. It was already pap for squares, but he made it worse.

4. There is, like, line-by-line bullshit I want to go over in that-- |

Rick fucking Santelli.
Okay, the first I heard about the Tea Parties was from Rick Santelli. Hmm. And Dick Armey and Freedomwatch were there from the get-go. And Fox News was not even "close behind". They were riding on top like a mahout on a tusker. This is grassroots like I'm Angelina Jolie. And if I was Angelina Jolie, what am I doing here?
The Koch Bros? We totally have them on tape bragging about their involvement. What media does this guy consume? Factory-fed by the RW veal pen?
A little deeper in--did he notice we have a Bill of Rights? Who won the Constitutional question, then?
Why is Hofstadter influential--uh, I know! He was right!
Our government is limited with respects to the liberties of its citizens, but as to its powers on behalf of the welfare of the republic, this shit is built into Article 1. And I don't see how he can claim that the Teabaggers derive their philosophy from The Federalist papers if they have no familiarity with them, being products of the same education system as us libs, except that there is a way. They are spponfed its ideals by right wind elites who deal with these issues in think-tank groups like Cato, Heritage and oh I know! The Federalist society. Whose ideas then spin out through a largely center-right corporate media system where the talking points become bumper-sticker-ready.
That was weak. Who is still reading the Wall Street Journal, anyway since it became Murdoch's loss-leader?

5. I think he makes a good argument |
|
I believe he is wrong, but it is an article worth reading...
While I believe that there are a few well educated people of the tea-bagger persuasion, the movement is one of leading through irrational emotional sensationalism.
"...They certainly do not teach about the virtues, or qualities of mind and character, that enable citizens to shoulder their political responsibilities and prosper amidst the opportunities and uncertainties that freedom brings. Nor do they teach the beliefs, practices and associations that foster such virtues and those that endanger them... Our universities have produced two generations of highly educated people who seem unable to recognize the spirited defense of fundamental American principles..." :wtf:

7. It's nonsense written by a hack from a right wing think tank. |
|
If the tea baggers were so concerned about keeping government in line and about spending, they would have burned down the White House while the illegal wiretapping, charge the war to your grandkids president was in office.

8. the Federalist Papers were propaganda written to appease Anti-Federalists. |
|
I wish people would keep that in mind. The Founding Fathers knew they were writing for dumbass Anti-Federalist morons, so they wrote to soft pedal the Constitution. The Papers are the first example of "spin" in American politics.
