The Obama signed health bill made sure... |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-18-10 07:46 AM by SHRED
...that corporate profit margins would be sustained in our health care system. That capitalism would write the rules.
No public option. No single-payer. Not even a 55+ Medicare option.
And yet the Tea Bag freaks/Repubs insist it is a "marxist", "socialist", and "communist" bill.
What are these freaks drinking for breakfast?

9. So what about "these freaks" on DU that love Obamacare |
|
when it "made sure that corporate profit margins would be sustained in our health care system. That capitalism would write the rules.
No public option. No single-payer. Not even a 55+ Medicare option. "
Shit like this is why most people don't vote. Neither side has an ounce of credibility anymore.

In fact we need a systemic change in our election system. Publicly financed elections. Yeah...repealing corporate "personhood", like that is gonna happen. Never mind.

That would be one set of people.
THe point of my post was that the OP bashed Obamacare something protecting corporate profits and not doing shit for the public, and implied the tea party should love it (or at least not whine about it). yet isn't htat bill what dems and Obama are supposed to tout as being awesome?
Should we be proud of something we did, yet is something the tea party should be content with?
Im convinced most people don't vote because they see this type of arguing in politics and think the people involved are just shitheads looking to yell about something.

33. The problem with triangulation, in a nutshell. |
|
The problem for Democrats trying to defend the business-comprompised healthcare reform is that it is
1) Watered down so much in favor of business interests that most of the possible benefit is destroyed.
2) Still guaranteed to be denounced as wildly "leftist" "Marxist," etc. by Republicans / conservatives.

altogether within a decade, leaving us no choice but to go to a universal single payer system.
It is, by far, the most strategically brilliant move that Obama has made as President.
