Paladino appears two weeks away from a landslide defeat.
On politicalwire.com, the headline is worded more forcefully, but here is the original piece in the New York TIMES:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/18/nyregion/18poll.html?_r=1

-- suggesting that voters in New York seem to strongly prefer Andrew Cuomo over his opponent, who has presented himself fairly consistently as a psychotic bigot.

1. We can't judge all teabaggers by homophobic, beastiality enthusiast Paladino.
Teabaggers have a wide range of views from Nazi sympathies to witchcraft and mastubation prohibition to paying doctors in chickens. As Colbert put it, they have a big tent with a circus underneath.

2. That's true. By limiting the Baggers' characterization
to Paladino only, I've failed to acknowledge the sheer breadth of their diverse psychoses.

Point taken!

7. No, not at all.
Paladino is presented by the networks and the cables as a legitimate candidate and his in-the-cellar poll numbers are rarely mentioned of just downplayed. Even KO and RM show him as story one with all kinds of outrage but they could be covering progressive candidates. So, on the one hand the networks and CNN are trying to legitimize him and the very few actual liberal shows (there are no liberal networks besides FSTV) are using him for fear and outrage.

His name needs to sink into obscurity now.

5. Yes, and O'dopey too
We need to focus on the closer races and stop staring at the distracting bright light in our eyes.

9. Carl was reported to have been "on his best behavior,"
during the recent debate, whatever that could possibly mean in the case of someone like Carl Paladino.

I'm taking a lot of encouragement from recent polling showing Cuomo pulling substantially ahead in this race.
