Angle To Latino Students: 'Some Of You Look A Little More Asian To Me'
Goodness... How can the right produce candidates that are just INSANE.

I mean, all we have is Alvin Greene, they have a whole army of these lunatics.

While speaking to a group of Latino students on the virtues of America as a melting pot, Republican Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle said that some of the students looked Asian to her.

As Jon Ralston reports:

"So that's what we want is a secure and sovereign nation and, you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don't know that. What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country. My grandchildren are evidence of that. I'm evidence of that. I've been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly."

That last comment, about her being called the first Asian legislator? I have no idea what she is talking about.
I'm honestly not sure whether this particular gaffe qualifies as being racist, or just clueless.

This occurred at the same event where Angle said that the Latinos labeled as "illegal aliens" in her ads might not be Latinos at all, but terrorists sneaking in from the Canadian border.

Note: On Angle's reference to her grandchildren as evidence of the melting pot, she has a Latina daughter-in-law. But as for that segue to her being the "first Asian legislator" in Nevada, I'm as clueless as the rest of us.

1. It's always risky to "guess" with these goofs, but might she mean
it in the same way people used to say that Bill Clinton was the "first Black President"?...That he was "inspired" by African-Americans or "inspired" BY them?...Who knows?..I don't imagine she's announcing her heretofore hidden Asian bloodlines, or anything..But Who Knows?

I can't pinpoint it, but I remember Tweety or some other MSNBC host pointing out some other odd thing she said in another recent speech....It was a kind of "come out of nowhere" thing and completely unrelated to the rest of her speech.

Who knows?..She could be freakin' "channeling" for all we know.:wow:

6. If this is the best the GOPukers have to offer, we should slaughter them
in Nov. If a single Teabagger gets elected, I'm boycotting anything from that state. If Rick Perry gets elected again, I'm going to drown my sorrows in a bottle of whiskey.

8. Sounds like she's winning over the Hispanic vote left and right.
What a goof-ball. Good luck with your disgruntled white majority, idiot.
