NAACP to release report on Wednesday: racism rampant among Teabaggers

There is no doubt the Tea Party has emerged as a major movement in this midterm election season. On Monday, the Tea Party Express launched its fourth national bus tour in Reno. This coming Wednesday, the NAACP is expected to release a controversial report the Tea Party will not want to see.

They’ve been called conservative and extremists, but now the NAACP is calling them racists. The forthcoming report alleges Tea Party leaders have ties to extremist, radical racist groups. The full report is embargoed until Wednesday, but says, in part:

The Tea Party organization has given platforms to anti-Semites, racists, and bigots. Further, hardcore white nationalists have been attracted to these protests, looking for potential recruits and hoping to push these (white) protestors toward a more self-conscious and ideological white supremacy.

“A large portion of Tea Party members show a lot of racial resentment,” UNLV sociology professor Robert Futrell asserts....The NAACP goes on to say the following:

The danger is not that the majority of Tea Party members share their views, but that left unchecked, these extremists might indirectly influence the direction of the Tea Party and therefore the direction of our country.

and since the tea party is really the GOP (that dare not speak its name after what it did to the country for 8 years) the GOP is also racist.

... the report will be grounded in statistical data, which will lend more credibility to our anecdotal observations, and perhaps that will convince some of the people who have been denying this link.
