There has been No surge in Government Spending

The red bar is the growth rate of government spending.

The big increase in the deficit is due to less taxes being collected because the economy collapsed.

Not a surge in total government spending.

3. Recommended; see Videos section for an amazing deconstruction
of EVERY ONE of the 'Pukes alleged arguments against the Democrats by Rachel Maddow.

complaining?

It seems the only way to bring the revenue numbers up is to boost employment, which means stimulating the economy and getting business to rehire. What exactly are Wall Street and the MNCs doing about that - nothing, they're just stashing money ($1.8 Trillion, so far) into offshore accounts, ensuring that the system collapses when gov't stimulus stops.

The Brits and France are going down the same road to ruin, slashing public expenditures by 25 percent.

I thought the conservatives were the ones who were supposed to understand how money works. . . Not.

11. I agree that the money party's (public) ignorance about money is puzzling
In private they might be more shrewd... these disastrous policies would help some people.

6. could be argued that it's less spending
Krugman says he doesn't understand why all the talk about runaway spending. Doesn't he understand that the facts do not matter to republicans; only their (permanent) talking points count.

Does he not understand that the media is nothing but an echo chamber for GOP talking points?

Furthermore, one could actually argue that spending is less. How? On a per capita basis. The population has grown but government services have not grown to service the increase in people.
