French protestors appreciation thread

The protests are starting to become violent in France w/a large majority of the population against enactment of the so-called 'austerity measures'. Sarkozy has deemed these measures necessary & continues w/his unwavering support. This is getting pretty big. The French people are standing up en masse against their government...are you paying attention?

8. Just got back from France last night

My flight at CDG was delayed because of the fuel shortage, but we got off the ground an hour later.

The impression I have is that they are protesting so they don't end up like us 10 years down the road; with a weakened safety net and shitty education and health systems.
