Major smackdown of Joe Miller in Anchorage Daily News editorial
Edited on Tue Oct-19-10 02:08 PM by Blue_In_AK
by longtime Alaska journalist Michael Carey.

Joe Miller is Just Another Nut from Fairbanks

Joe Miller revealed who he really is at Central Middle School Sunday: A bully and a budding fascist.

After Miller wrapped himself in the Constitution before an audience of 100 or more Alaskans for an hour, his private security guards arrested journalist Tony Hopfinger during a minor dust-up with a Miller supporter. Hopfinger was handcuffed until police officers arrived to restore order.

Hopfinger was allegedly trespassing. How do you trespass at a public event?

Well, perhaps Miller got his inspiration from the leaders of the late East Germany who he told his audience had an effective immigration policy. You may remember East German border guards shot their countrymen bidding to escape to West Germany.

I have met every Alaska senator since statehood. None of them traveled with security guards. Ted Stevens sometimes traveled alone, without even a note-taking aide. What is Joe Miller afraid of?

Great editorial.

I love this comment:

Amen Brother. He's a full nut job and Sarah Palin and her ilk help put him there. A personal vendetta she had against Murkowski allowed us to be where we're at today. The great people of Alaska, please purge all the buffoons from the radar. You're being used by a bunch of racist militia's along with that quitting former Governor for money. Palin is a bloodsucking vampire. Watch out for her, you know Halloween is around the corner.

2. Great smackdown!
Great comment, too. I liked this: "Palin is a bloodsucking vampire."

Coincidentally, on the day Palin spoke at CSU Stanislaus this ad was on the front page at their student newspaper's website:

Bloodsucking vampire, indeed!

5. Wow, Mr. Carey didn't hold back, that's for sure...
"Well, if he wins this election Joe Miller won't need a sense of humor. The joke will be on us for sending him to Washington."

Good read, thanks for posting this.

Recommended.

6. "Alaska, where the odds are good, but the goods are odd."
I used to think that saying was out of date, but lately, it appears that it applies to either sex.

Miller is just another grifter...like his role model.

10. Both of my parents are voting for Murkowski.
They've been polled at least 3 times this month.

Mom almost always votes Dem, but she's too afraid of this joker winning.

11. Please explain to your parents the danger of a write-in campaign.

Scott McAdams is CLEARLY the candidate more in line with Democratic values and issues. Please try to convince them that they're making a big mistake.

You might also tell them that that, based on Lisa's voting record, the only difference between a Lisa Murkowski vote and a Joe Miller vote on issues important to Democrats is the difference between "no" and "hell, no." In other words, no substantive difference at all. Sure, Lisa isn't crazy, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't vote against the interests of ordinary people. She is a corporate shill.
