If Buchanan hadn't successfully avoided the military service that he so fervently wishes on others, I'd suspect him of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. As it is, I can't fathom why someone who has had so many good things in life just handed to him is such a bitter little crank. Maybe deep in his bones he knows he doesn't deserve his exalted position in our society (a concept I wholly agree with), and it comes out in his miserable little squirts of bile whenever he gets on the teevee?
