1. I've been checking CNN and MSNBC no mention of Lt Choi
Something most folk won't know if they have not been in the service. IF you get thrown away by the service..no matter that you got an honorable /admin discharge you cannot find a job in your field.

5. This article says he was -
A openly gay Iraq War veteran who was discharged under the government's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy enlisted in the U.S. Army in Times Square today.

Daniel Choi was discharged from the New York National Guard after he announced that he is gay.

He re-enlisted Tuesday at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square, following last week's decision by a federal judge to stop the military from enforcing the government's 17-year-old policy.

Choi said the opportunity had great personal significance and also a larger message.

9. I am pretty such officers don't enlist (or re-enlist) that is something enlisted do.
Not sure if the media just got the term wrong or if he intends to return to service as an enlisted (not a commissioned officer).
