2. Hasselback does not truly "understand" anything.
The only original idea she ever had, died a quick death due to loneliness.

7. Boo, Stephen. Boo.
Edited on Wed Oct-20-10 05:01 AM by CommonSensePLZ
I still think attacking a billion-member religion the way he did is ruder than just walking away. You can't have a logical conversation with someone who's irrational, smug and conceited all at the same time, I can't believe Stephen is actually taking O'RLY's side.

What O'Reilly said was unprofessional and the debate was done once he blurted it out, he crossed a line for the sake of being partisan, then AFTER that you couldn't even disagree with him because HE kept interrupting everyone!

This isn't just "agree with me," what he said was hateful and no one needs to be sitting there like a dummy listening to it, I suppose I would be a bad person for changing the channel on him at home? Do I have to watch his show now or I'm automatically a bad person? Pshs!

Yes, it would be rude and hurtful if someone just stopped talking to you, but how do you think the Muslims and innocent Muslim children if they were watching the him say that felt?

If O'Reilly wants people to listen to him then we should make sure he actually says things that are worth listening to, quoting and endorsing xenophobic fear is not it - I Don't care if 1,000,000% of the US is afraid of Muslims and thinks all of them are terrorists, that doesn't make them less wrong for it and that is not to be encouraged. It makes me sick how much we often reward terrible behavior in the US.

10. It seems to me
Edited on Wed Oct-20-10 04:57 AM by CommonSensePLZ
That he's ACTUALLY scolding Whoopi, not just putting on a character. He seems to truly believe that Whoopi was rude, that she owes him an apology, that she walked off just because Bill-o said something she didn't agree with, and I think he's wrong and that in this day and age just walking away when a person reveals themselves to be a racist like O'Reilly did is understandable (if lenient). When he returned to his seat after "storming off" he sarcastically said 'I'm sorry, that was unprofessional' hinting that she should've said that.

If she wanted to sit there and try to reason with an unreasonable person that's her option as well, but O'Reilly's opinion was heard, he had nothing else and he can't claim people didn't hear him out. Otherwise they've both got plenty of forums they can use to express their freedoms of speech and don't need to be sitting there angry.

I bet if Whoopi had been thinking more clearly she would've just figured out a sort of smooth transition to commercial break.

14. Wow
OK, one more try here. I'm trying to help you, I really am.

Dozens of people have read your posts on this, and they are ALL shaking their heads at you. You just don't get it. My advice would be to ask someone who does get it to explain it to you, and under NO circumstances should you post again until you do. You look bad here, and there's no helping that, but in the name of all that's holy don't make it worse. Trust me on this. Colbert is MOCKING O'Reilly. Try to understand this in that light and until you do, do not post again. It just makes you look worse each time.

I don't know you and have no real motivation to prevent you making a fool of yourself. I have tried but that's just the way I was raised. From here out you're on your own.

25. To the above
It really seems to me that Stephen is picking on Whoopi, not O'Reilly. I watch his show all the time, he called Whoopi rude, unprofessional and said she behaved in a way that suggests she's unwilling to listen to people she disagrees with and I'm the one that needs a clue because you guys are too busy laughing at him to understand what he's saying? Come on.

It's his whole schtick.

I don't know how else to spell it out to you, so I'm sorry that you don't understand his comedy. It must make watching his show sort of perplexing.
