My latest novel, Time and the Soldier, is now available in Kindle format from Amazon:

I had been waiting for Smashwords to do the conversion and upload the book to Amazon, but they're involved in long-running contract negotiations with Amazon and nothing was happening, so I lost patience and did it myself. I had heard that it's difficult and tedious, but it turned out not to be. Download the free Mobipocket Creator from mobipocket.com (owned by Amazon, I believe), use that to create a .prc file from your MS Word document, and then upload the .prc file to Amazon at dtp.amazon.com. Formatting was preserved and everything was smooth.

Now I sit back confidently and await the imminent arrival of fame and fortune. Any moment now ...

There's a real sea-change under way in the publishing biz. No one knows yet what the result will be, but I think it's fairly certain that the old model is crumbling before our eyes.
