In case you missed it, we had a live blog with Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FL) earlier today. He started posting around noon and was able to answer a number of questions, but eventually he had to leave for an event, leaving many questions unanswered.

This is understandable, of course. He's a Congressman, after all.

Seriously though, Grayson makes me wish I could vote for him, and being a lefty progressive Canadian, thus well to the left of the Dems, I really don't say that about many American politicians. (To be fair, there aren't really that many Canadian politicians I'm thrilled to vote for either.)

Democrats want to be engaged by the people they vote for and support. There's a tendency of modern politicians to keep voters at a distance, where the distance protects the politician from hearing things they don't like hearing.

This kind of opportunity for interaction affords some ability to have a comfortable distance, yet respond to those with questions.

Congratulations to all involved. I hope to see more of this.

The congressman replied to me even though I didn't even ask a question, LOL, missed the live discussion, just thanked you for offering this and said it was great for DU morale.
