Republican is on Lawrence O'Donnell explaining ad that tells hispanics not to vote
He used the common refrain that "the Democrats had control of Congress and should be punished for not bringing up immigration reform."

Problem is, O'Donnell asked about his previous position in the RNC and how he's never supported Democrats and that this is simply an effort to suppress the Hispanic vote in Nevada to get Sharron Angle elected.

This is one heated argument - watch the tape later if you can!

Personal comment:

I'm a little bothered that I've heard similar arguments here over the past year.

8. see, the thing is WHEN am I going to be able to vote withOUT holding my nose?
tighter and tighter every year

last time was in 96 when I voted for Nader (I know), but Illinois was very safe for WJC, and we NEED a party that represents us, the little nobodies, instead of two parties who only do the bidding of those that pay for their campaigns

time for legalized bribery to stop

don't axe me for any answers. as long as we have a legally entrenched two party (that's debatable) system, which makes it impossible for any other party to gain any traction, things are going to stay the same

and if you don't think both parties are getting closer together with each cycle, all the while moving to the right, well, what can I say?

Lawrence is doing such a great job and kind of similar to her style, but he's able to broaden his scope.

You guessed it, Hispanic Republican token in Hawaii. He didn't even get it when they treated him like the...hired help at a State Convention.

so to speak. There's no way they can call this anything except bigoted voter disenfranchisement. It's disgusting and I'm glad Lawrence chewed him up and spit him out.

23. This perfectly underscores the stunning irony of the GOP position.
They tout the American ideal, weep for "democracy" and "our freedoms", the most emblematic one being the right of every citizen to vote. That's what democracy means; YOU have a voice and a percentage of the power. But really, they aren't interested in democracy. They're interested in Capitalism, in the power of money and all it conveys. If they can't overtly take the power away from the average person who might not be interested in whether their corporation makes a buck or their shill stays in office, then they do it covertly, by saying things like this.

I'll second the comments that point out that the Progressive Democrats are succumbing to the same "cut off your nose to spite your face" attitude of not voting, a fact that absolutely shocks me. I view it as voluntarily giving up your status as a US citizen, and turning the country over to those who don't want to partner with you in running this country, they want to use you to rape and pillage this country. And I will NEVER be a partner in my own destruction. I'll vote for my progressive ideals til they have to pry the ballot from my cold, dead hands.
