6. I feel sorry for Anita Hill. She made a huge sacrifice

coming forward, and the sleaze got in anyway. And now his wife has the nerve to ask her to apologize? What, she was there? Appalling, and he knows no shame calling Anita mediocre to discredit her. I wonder if Clarence put his wife up to this latest travesty. That book and subsequent 60 Minutes segment he did absolutely convinced me (even more that I was) that he did everything Anita Hill said he did.

But yes, overall this is good for us. I just think AH has suffered enough.

The person writing hit pieces on Anita Hill for conservative magazines back then, David Brock, recanted and admitted he made most of his smears about Hill up. Brock is gay and when conservatives began revving up the anti-gay rhetoric, he began empathizing with all of the people he had been smearing for the conservative rags.

Stay with me for a moment:

What if his wife found out he cheated on her or he admitted that he'd tried to get Anita in the sack? Yelling at him isn't going to do it, not with that guy, but getting him in the news again by pulling a stunt like this would work. It would remind him who his boss really is, who can destroy any hopes of ever being relevant, and just how much he owes his wife with plenty of plausible deniability.

This sounds like something a jilted wife would pull. It sucks for Anita, but it's rather effective for Clarence.
