It no longer makes any sense for the wealthy to vote Republican.
It used to be that the Republican party was made up of the wealthy, who benefitted from convservative policies, and the social conservatives *dupes* who voted against their own economic interests for various reasons *bullshit*.

I no longer think that paridigm holds true. Slashing spending right now would exacerbate the economic prolbems of the country like nothing else. And permanently cutting taxes just isn't doable without slashing middle class entitlements. If they got their way, they would take the wealthy down right along with the rest of us.

I guess if you're wealthy and only have 10 years to live, you might be better off with R's in charge. As long as there is no one to survive you that you care about. Otherwise ................. damn!

They shit on the woker. They shit on the economy. They shit on the environment. They shit on science and knowledge. They shit on the future. It's all about the now. Give me mine and give it to me RIGHT NOW!

The short-sightedness of this attitude astounds me. How did such morons get so rich in the first place? That's what I'd like to know.

2. I think the "10 years left" part is important.
Lots of the truly wealthy are determined to at least, try to take it with them.

The other is that the American wealthy don't think of themselves as Americans any more. They have hitched their wagons to China and Burma and Viet Nam.*

America is so 20th century.

*Of course, that won't work much longer either as those economies are vampire economies that depended almost entirely on American purchasing power
