Just curious....are there any Republicans left who aren't nuts? |
|
I'm not trying to be a booster to the Republican Party here, but boy have they taken a downward slide in intelligence over the past 10 years.
I'm listening to POTUS radio on XM today, and the talking points for all of these candidates are so simplistic it's amazing.
Jeez, at least in the old days the Bob Dole's of the world could usually form complete sentences.
I used to think that in order to vote for Republicans on a regular basis you had to be one of those Rich greedy types, or the type that are afraid of Communists. But now I just get the impression you have to be a geniune idiot.

3. There are probably a few left |
|

but most are retired, were successfully primaried by the teabaggers, or otherwise marginalized/silenced by the right. Some of them have undoubtedly become independents or Democrats in terms of their political affiliation.

4. Today's Repubs are an order of magnitude stupider and crazier than those of Gingrich's days. |
|
And Gingrich's were an order of magnitude stupider and crazier than those who came before them. It's gotten to the point that if we could harness the force expended by Goldwater spinning in his grave, we could have unlimited energy.

basically raised a new generation of idiot Republicans.
First they drummed out the moderate/liberal wing of the party. The few left were old or quickly becoming Democrats. The remaining Republicans then had a general understanding of how the party worked. It had one face it told themselves internally and one face they showed the public. It was generally understood somethings shouldn't be said publicly by the party. More important there were issues that they ran on, but would never pass because they were frankly stupid ideas that got votes but hurt the country. RW media basically carried the message for them. Now that generation that became politically active from RW media has basically forgotten the rules. After the repeated failure of modern conservatism who but a crazy idiot would want their policies? Worse it appears who but a crazy idiot would run openly on their policies? The answer appears to be a crazy idiot, a crazy idiot with a lot of corporate backing.

That gal that was on with Rachel last night as well. I know neither of those two are in any position of power though.. I know of none in power that are brave enough to buck the Limbaugh/Tea Bagger effect though..The more they narrow down their Party though the better it is for a truly "Big Tent" Party.

16. I attribute their behavior to the RW Media Hatemongers. |
|
The Pied Pipers of Rushistan, Beckistan et al have have empowered them to the point that they no longer feel any different from the rest of the world when it comes to their willful ignorance. They wear their rabid stupidity like a crown. Smirky probably had something to do with that too.
