Tea Party Founder Turns on Palin, Gingrich, and "Douchebag Groups Focused on God, Guns, and Gays"
Edited on Wed Oct-20-10 02:36 PM by bigtree
from HuffPo: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/20/karl-denninger-tea-party_n_770108.html

10-20-10 03:09 PM

Karl Denninger, an original organizer of the Tea Party, is out with a livid blog post blasting current leaders of the conservative movement and the apparent hypocrisy in their views of the economic issues that originally catalyzed its creation.

According to Denninger, "Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, and douchebag groups such as the Tea Party Patriots" are to blame for the bastardization of a movement that now seems focused on "Guns, gays, God," instead of the Tea Party's original mission: to castigate the federal government for supporting the "rampant theft" of taxpayer dollars that went toward "propping up FAILED private businesses."

Here's the down and dirty of what Denninger believes the Tea Party was all about:

"In short, The Tea Party was and is about the the corruption of American Politics and the blatant and outrageous theft from all Americans that has resulted. It is about personal responsibility and enforcement of the law against those who have robbed, financially ****d and pillaged the nation.

Denninger's analysis of the movement now led by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and represented by GOP candidates such as Sharron Angle, Rand Paul and Christine O'Donnell is biting:

"Tea Party my ass. This was nothing other than The Republican Party stealing the anger of a population that was fed up with The Republican Party's own theft of their tax money at gunpoint to bail out the robbers of Wall Street and fraudulently redirecting it back toward electing the very people who stole all the ****ing money!"

. . . hopefully, they'll rip each other to shreds.

50. Yup.
As a former tea party sympathizer, I am refreshed by his comments.

Used to be that at Tea Party meetings if someone showed up and said he was a Republican politician, he got boo'd.

Now the Tea Party is just another wing of the GOP.

Needed repeating.

Even Denninger's definition of "Teaparty" is 10 years too late. Where were they when Bush & Cheney were letting business write laws and going to war on lies (that costs a bundle!)? They were stupid enough to think that was all legit. They got their little tax rebate check and thought they done good! Rubes is right.

packaging, covering them selves with a glittery corporate media promoted Tea Party wrapping.

It's like they say "If you can't beat them, co-opt them and then beat them."

True anti-corporate supremacist populism is where the primary political energy is, but don't tell that to the brainwashed Tea Partiers taking Glenn Beck's advice to send more money to the corporate supremacist promoting Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks for the thread, bigtree.

63. I disagree.
We've been running on "significantly better than the alternative" for decades.

We need to be running on "radically different".

People want the wars ended. People want the military downsized. People want budgets balanced and the economy fixed in a lasting, non-bubble sort of way.

Why can't we run on giving the people what they want, responsible government?

In the alternative, why do we run on a platform of "responsible government" and give the people "kick the can down the road" government? Blame it on the last administration. blame it on the next administration.

The only thing our representatives in EITHER party seem to be able to manage is spin.

66. How about running on "good and just"
Like good for the people. And just punishment of all criminals, whether they be petty shoplifters (no lack of punishment is this and similar departments) or corporate fraudsters (where punishment is little more than a small tax on ill-gotten gains).

On that subject, realize that if everyone were punished as we punish large corporate wrongdoing, someone who robs a bank of $1500 would be punished by having to pay a fine of a few hundred dollars, would have to admit nothing by way of guilt, and would be allowed to keep the rest of the stolen money. Why is this mode of punishment suddenly unquestioned when the money gets into the hundreds of millions of dollars?

68. There are a lot of things I, personally, want. An end to the drug war. Yes, a downsized military.
I wanted the Iraq War to end, and it is ending. Plans are in the works to get the troops out of Afghanistan.

I would like a Single Payer Health Care System. I certainly wanted a public option with the Health Care Bill. But I do believe what we got is a significant improvement on the status quo.

Despite media blather to the contrary, a lot WAS accomplished in the past 2 years. Despite the GOP.

I, too, would like radically different, but if you think a mild sense of disappointment on a couple areas is going to make me sit out this election, you're radically mistaken.

And if you think that protecting a woman's right to choose versus people who want to outlaw the pill is a minor, insignificant point of difference, I really can't help you.

The GOP isn't going to seriously challenge Roe. That's just electoral meat they throw out to the base.

They need Roe v. Wade as much as we do. It keeps their members fired up.

The schism in the Republican party has been happening since the beginning of the 2008 election season. Now all that sound and fury is about to turn bloody as the lines are being drawn between factions. So yes, we can say this "civil war" has greatly escalated.

I have been flabbergasted by the entire media meme regarding the Tea Party almost since its inception. The people that I have been seeing on TV and in person are basically the exact same assclowns that carried Curious George dolls to McCain-Palin rallies and screamed out "kill him" or feared the "Muslim" back in '08.

For anyone who has not already seen it, view Alexandra Pelosi's (yes THAT Pelosi) outstanding documentary "Right America Feeling Wronged" and then contrast and compare the people in THAT film with the morons in the Beck-Palin-Tea Bagger "movement". There is zero, none, zilch, nada, goose egg space between the two!

The longer arc of history will record the Tea Party for what it REALLY boils down to - racist fools saying retarded things and being taken advantage of by the very same people who gang-raped them into their current situation to begin with....talk about a text book case of "Stockholm Syndrome"...

67. Attention All Teabaggers! Was the title of my email I sent out to
a bunch of people over this.
Here's the text.

Here's a link every tea party fan should read. It's and interview with one of the founders of the movement explaining what a lot of people have known for a long time.
No it's not Dick Armey from Freedomworks, nor is it one of the billionaire Koch brothers from The Tea Party Express. Those of course aren't founders of anything, especially not something that "claims" to be some kind of grass roots movement. Armey and the the people running the tea party now are just big shot Republicans, working for the large corporations and lobbyists.
All this is common knowledge to anyone with any knowledge. Some ignorant, inbred, racist, half-wit, piece of crap, that only thinks what it "gits taught" to think by Fox News, wouldn't have a clue.
Now Republicans will get their ass handed to them again and wonder why. You should have figured it out when Palin ran the McCain campaign into the ground. Stupid people can't be in charge.
I'll tell you what you can do about it though. The same thing you did in 2008, when Obama won, and what you will do in 2012 when he wins again. That is, BEND THE FUCK OVER AND EAT THE SHIT OUT OF EACH OTHERS BUTTS!
The Democrats will still control the House and Senate, a Democrat will STILL be President and he will STILL BE BLACK!

70. Proof that tea baggers are extremist and want to take us over the edge..
Seeing that those pukes like Palin are not of the chart to the right for the tea baggers, I can only imagine where any of there fake politicians would try to take us.
