Is Anita Hill a GOP operative? |
|
I'm not the type to put on a tinfoil hat.
But I think Anita Hill is a GOP operative, or at least paid by the GOP.
When Clarence Thomas was nominated for the Supreme Court, it was obvious he was nominated ONLY because he was a black conservative. Frankly, he showed all the signs of being an incompetent back in 1991.
A distraction was needed, to get attention away from Thomas' abysmal record. Anita Hill pops up with the lurid sex accusations, problem solved. Thomas' bad record gets forgotten.
Now, there are serious questions about the political activism of Thomas' wife, her ties to Teabagger groups. A distraction is needed again, and Anita Hill pops up again. The lurid sex accusations get lots of press, and Thomas' wife's activism in conservative groups is forgotten. Mission accomplished.
Just my theory...

That was the last kind of distraction Thomas needed. He very well might not have made it in, if it weren't for Spector.

An ex-girlfriend of Thomas's is writing her memoirs and writes that the behavior Dr. Hill testified to was in line with the man she dated from 1979 until the mid-80's (certainly long enough to get to know him). Thomas's sleezy wife is just trying to get ahead of the story. The Daily Beast has the poop: http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheat-sheet/item/thomasrsquos-ex-anita-hill-was-accurate/dj-vu-/?cid=tag:all1

5. No way. Do you remember those hearings? |
|
There is no way in hell that Anita Hill was anything but exactly what she claimed to be -- a woman who had been sexually harassed at work by a guy who didn't deserve the job he had at the time, let alone a position on the Supreme Court. He was nominated ONLY because Poppy Bush needed a conservative black federal judge for that position (to "prove" the Republicans really weren't bigots), and there aren't many of those. Then Anita Hill's allegations surfaced. That poor woman was put through hell for having the guts to come forward, and frankly it's a bit insulting to suggest she was a GOP plant.

They too, blamed Thomas for sexual harassment. AND they also said they had pictures of his penis he had photo copied and spread around. WHAT IN THE HELL KIND OF DISTRACTION DO YOU CALL THAT. Anita Hill didn't photo copy it, sexual panting ding dong did.

working against Obama - and far reaching government as she puts it...she is GOP...but this draws more attention to Clarance's past and at a time when his first wife is putting out a book that says Anita Hill was right...so Ginny screwed up royaly...I don't think this is the result she was looking for...the dear judges incompetance will more than likely be exposed, as well as his creepy SELF

14. Wrong. Thomas was getting a "pass", the Hill matter was... |

... a last gasp to put the brakes on it.
All his shortcomings were being overlooked. If not for Anita Hill, he would have sailed through.

18. Then how do we explain all the other women waiting to testify about him? |
|
According to the well researched and documented writing about the events that came out after the whole absurd mess...there were women who'd worked for Thomas stacked up in hotels all over Washington, ready to testify to his randy, sexist and utterly inappropriate behavior. Joe Biden chaired the committee at the time, and he refused to call any of the others, leaving Ms. Hill hanging out there all alone. I was pissed off at Joe for some time about this. But I don't think HE was a GOP tool. I'm really sorry to read your theory, Archae. It seems way way off to me. To label Anita Hill a GOP tool is, to me, the ultimate crazy insult.

Hill did not pop up, she got popped. That loon Thomas popped her, and quite publicly. The GOP operative is obviously Thomas, not Hill. Other than that a fine theory....
