NPR analyst fired over Muslim comment
http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/10/21/npr.analyst.fired/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn

(CNN) -- National Public Radio said it terminated the contract of a news analyst after he said on a Fox News show that he gets nervous when he sees people with Muslim garb on planes.

Juan Williams had worked at NPR for a long time, but his other job as an analyst on the "largely conservative and often contentious prime time talk shows of Fox News has long been a sore point with NPR News executives," an article on NPR's website said.

Williams made the comments recently on Bill O'Reilly's show "The O'Reilly Factor."

1. Good! Now, maybe a few more nudges will start that pendulum in the
other direction.

It is bad enough when they use code words to slur others, but now they are blatant.

2. Long Overdue
Williams has been a disgrace to that network for a long time. His affiliation with Faux taints any "journalistic" integrity he ever had and it's about time NPR realized he was a liability. Methinks there's also a money component here...he probably became a luxuary the cash-strapped network could no longer afford.

10. I agree
Personally, I am thrilled that NPR dumped that asshole Williams. Almost restores my faith in NPR.

3. What about Mara Liasson . She is on NPR and a regular on FOX.

She is NPR's national political correspondent. She joined Fox News in 1997. She is a regular contributor to Special Report with Bret Baier and a panelist on FOX News Sunday.

11. If he wasn't fired because the comment was insensitive, he should have been fired because it was ...
stupid.

What the hell does he think the 9/11 hijackers were wearing? Jubbas?
