Some Upset Over Mandatory Tolerance Program

VALLEJO, Calif. (CBS13) ― A training video designed to teach kids to tackle bullying is raising the ire of some parents who say the program infringes on their rights.

The Vallejo Unified School District is required to show a video entitled "Let's Get Real," which addresses all kinds of bullying, including homosexual harassment. Some parents say the video shouldn't be mandatory.

Helenmarie Gordon took her case to the school board, arguing that parents should "get clear information when they are going to do this, so we have the right to view it and also that we have the right to opt in or opt out."

Gordon says parents should be allowed to decide whether its appropriate for their children.

"My rights were violated," she said.

The school district implemented the class after a complaint was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, saying the district didn't do enough to protect a student who was being bullied because of sexual orientation.

1. Pass a law that makes the parents of school bullies specifically liable for damages
and start expelling bullies from school. See how fast those parents spin around and demand "anti-bullying programs" when they start seeing the other parents of bullies getting socked with $250,000 court judgements and their precious little snowflakes forced to go to reform school.

6. And what exactly is her "opinion"
That gays should be brutally harassed and killed in the streets? Go fuck yourself, Helenmarie. And get a name that isn't asinine.

7. "Gordon said she feels her opinion isn't being respected..."
What? Her opinion that it's okay to bully certain kids? Does she realize what an ass she sounds like?

No, none of them ever do in their self-righteous, panty twisted, fits of crazy.

10. It's funny that the parent says HER rights were violated

You can see the video on Youtube, if you really think that it violates your rights if your children see it, then you must be trying to keep their minds closed and that means you fail as a parent.

11. The video is the result of a settlement with the ACLU
which had accused the school district of failing to protect a student from bullying over his or her sexual orientation.

I wouldn't be surprised if Helenmarie is the parent of a bullying student from the ACLU case.
